We are seeking an Income Officer to join a dynamic housing company dedicated to tackling the local housing shortage and offering genuinely affordable homes based in East London. As Income Officer you will be joined a small but dynamic team of Income Officers and you will be responsible for promoting a culture of timely payments and managing the rent arrears process across all tenures.


Overview

  • Drafting and serving Notices of Seeking Possession (NOSPs) and initiating legal proceedings.
  • Producing regular Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
  • Strong understanding of social housing issues.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of best practices in income management and debt collection.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Housing and Welfare Benefits.
  • Proficiency in using Excel spreadsheets and housing management software (e.g., Yardi, Landlord Portal for Universal Credit, and Landlord Portal for Housing Benefit software packages).
  • Ability to use initiative when dealing with a wide variety of people.
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to income management in both social housing and the private sector.
  • Capability to manage a varied and busy workload, meeting targets and deadlines.
  • High level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities
  • Experience with Microsoft applications and computerised Housing Rents applications.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external partners.
