Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the entire logistics process within the company, ensuring smooth operations from production to distribution. This role involves developing and implementing a logistics strategy tailored to the specific needs of the lighting fixture industry, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The manager will coordinate all aspects of the logistics cycle, including shipping, inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Logistics Strategy:
  • Design and implement the logistics operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives and regulatory standards in the lighting fixtures industry.
  • Optimize end-to-end supply chain processes, from raw material procurement to final product delivery.
  • Rep System Management:
  • Establish and manage the logistics operations for representative (rep) systems, ensuring that reps have the necessary tools and inventory to serve clients effectively.
  • Coordinate with sales and distribution teams to optimize rep-based order fulfillment, returns, and stock replenishment.
  • Inventory Control:
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained in warehouses and rep locations.
  • Implement inventory tracking systems to monitor stock levels, orders, deliveries, and storage.
  • Transportation & Distribution:
  • Manage all transportation logistics, including inbound and outbound freight.
  • Coordinate with carriers and negotiate contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective shipping solutions.
  • Warehousing:
  • Supervise warehousing operations, ensuring safe, secure, and efficient handling of lighting fixtures and components.
  • Develop storage solutions that accommodate the size and fragility of lighting fixtures.
  • Supplier & Vendor Relations:
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and vendors to ensure the timely and reliable flow of materials and products.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage shipping schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Cost Management:
  • Monitor and manage logistics budgets to reduce operational costs while maintaining service levels.
  • Analyze logistics performance metrics and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to logistics, transportation, and warehousing within the lighting industry.
  • Adhere to environmental and safety standards during the transportation and storage of products.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a logistics team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and train staff in logistics operations and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Experience:
  • Proven work experience in logistics management within the manufacturing industry, specifically in lighting fixtures or related sectors (minimum 5-7 years).
  • Experience with rep system logistics and managing third-party distribution networks.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design and optimize logistics processes.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems (e.g., SAP, ERP, WMS).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certifications:
  • Certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) are advantageous.
