The Associate Director, Administration and Governance at the London School of Economics and Political Science plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Information Officer by ensuring the strategic and operational effectiveness of the Data and Technology Services department.


This role is central to fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and inclusivity, underpinning the department's alignment with the School's mission and strategic objectives.


The Associate Director, Administration and Governance will lead initiatives in cross-departmental planning, governance, communications, administration, financial management, and team culture, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and fostering connectivity within the LSE community.


Duties and Responsibilities


Strategic Support and Planning:


Work in tandem with the CIO to develop and execute strategic plans.

Facilitate strategic alignment of technology infrastructure, platforms, data, and application management with the School's goals.


Operational Management and Administration:

Oversee operational and administrative activities, managing resources, finances, HR, and contracts.

Ensure departmental efficiency and compliance with the School's policies and regulations.


Culture, Communication, and Connectivity:

Develop and implement communication strategies to foster a positive organizational culture.

Organize town halls, planning sessions, and executive briefings to enhance team cohesion and connectivity with the broader LSE community.


Financial Management:

Manage budget, financial forecasting, and resource allocation in line with strategic priorities.


Governance and Compliance:

Support governance activities and ensure compliance with university standards and external regulations.

Act as a liaison with stakeholders to enhance departmental relationships and collaboration.


Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and develop the Office of the CIO team, promoting professional growth.

Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and departmental practices.


Annual Reporting and Strategic Initiatives:

Assist the CIO in annual reporting and tracking delivery against governance mechanisms.
