Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the smooth running of the sales department, where all aspects of the hotel’s pro-active sales initiatives are delivered and total revenue maximized ensuring both property and company standards are attained and adhered to.
  • Works proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries and problem resolution.
  • Responsible for the sales, revenue and overall positioning and the development of customer and partner relationships for the resort.
  • Delivers on plans and objectives where sales initiatives & hotel targets are achieved
  • Manages the sales team fostering a culture of growth, development and performance within the department.
  • Responsible for the departmental budget, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attained
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all key stakeholders and partners both internal and external ensuring all communications/activities are controlled and undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and scrutinizes the business performance, providing recommendations that will drive financial performance, including working with internal and external partners on ad-hoc projects.
  • Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required
  • Develops and implements strategies where key sales metrics are identified, communicated and delivered where reports and tracking tools are effectively maintained in line with defined initiatives & targets.
  • Effectively manages the life cycle of the team within the department, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance whilst reflecting promoting the company culture and values.
  • Collaboration with Marketing Communications and Revenue Management to adjust team bookings to achieve maximum productivity within the hotel.


Requirements and Qualifications of the Director of Sales:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Director of Sales and must have held similar role in a luxury hotel industry with Maldives experience.
  • Strong experience in leisure/resort sales
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Hotel Management degree or diploma.
  • Strong focus on existing business and know-how to develop new venture prospects.
  • Established contacts in the luxury segment.
  • Very good command of written and spoken English. Additional language skill will be an advantage.
  • Solid experience in planning and development of strategies and building business relationships with key partners.
  • Strong knowledge of preparing business plans and budget forecasts.
  • Solid leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style. Providing leadership in entrepreneurial sales activities.
  • Embraces change, able to think strategically and ability to work collaboratively across functions and cultures.
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations.

  • Ability to handle multiple challenging priorities and assignments.
