Key Responsibilities and Expectations


Management & Leadership


  • Oversee multiple decarbonization programs, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Report program performance to the Director and Executive Team, including financial projections and status updates.
  • Provide regular detailed status reports to funders, coordinating with other Senior Managers.
  • Prepare reports to influence policy decisions on current and future funding schemes.
  • Lead the development and launch of new funding schemes, collaborating with various departments.
  • Guide delivery teams to meet key priorities within required timescales.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and budget setting for effective funding implementation.
  • Promote Salix’s goals of reducing carbon footprint and maintaining a national reputation for excellence.


Project Management


  • Manage project completions, including accurate forecasting, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Establish and maintain systems for effective project delivery when funds are awarded.
  • Develop and review strategy and activity plans for program teams.
  • Ensure risk management is integrated into the company-wide risk register.


Stakeholder Management


  • Develop and maintain relationships with delivery partners, including various government departments.
  • Build and sustain client and stakeholder relationships to enhance the reach of Salix programs.


PR & Communications


  • Coordinate with the PR & Comms team to market Salix’s work across the public sector.
  • Represent Salix at promotional events and client meetings, and manage travel and flexible working schedules.


People Management


  • Manage and motivate a team of managers, empowering them to improve skills and abilities.
  • Ensure team members are trained and developed according to job requirements.
  • Support the team’s mental health and well-being.
  • Uphold Salix working procedures and values, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Participate in recruitment, performance management, and fostering a feedback culture within the team.
