What you’ll do:

We currently have a vacancy within our HR department for a full time Employee Relations (ER) Advisor based in our Lower Thames Street, London office (near Fenchurch Street).

You’ll be responsible for overseeing employee relation matters across all our business units, ensuring ER cases are concluded fairly, consistently and swiftly and expert advice is provided to our stakeholders.

You will be required to support our managers and staff, ensuring our policies and procedures and followed.

You will liaise with occupational health to support staff who require medical assessments and lead on reorganisations, TUPE cases and client group meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To act as the first point of contact for our management staff when dealing with employee relations matters and provide dedicated support for managers with ER issues.
  • Track cases to ensure these are being completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Utilizing internal data to monitor trends and provide business with relevant information/ insights as it relates to cases and sickness absence.
  • Represent HR in meetings and minute taking where necessary.
  • Help prepare invite and outcome letters to staff for the above meetings.
  • Processing management referrals via our occupational health provider, ensuring reports are reviewed promptly and necessary follow ups are scheduled.
  • Providing guidance and training to the workforce on c2c’s policies and procedures via internal comms, training and coaching of managers.
  • Ensuring c2c’s policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and compliant with latest employment law
  • Actively manage the administration of ER folder and related documents.
  • Supporting restructures and change management practices, ensuring a robust consultation process is followed.
  • Provide advice and guidance on terms and conditions of employment.
  • Managing internal transfers and secondments.
  • Advising managers on investigation processes and ensuring that these have been completed robustly.
  • Involvement in Trade Union discussions
  • Schedule client group meetings with key stakeholders ensuring that open cases are reviewed regularly and brought to a close as soon as practical.
  • Developing Health & Wellbeing, Talent Development and Succession Planning initiatives within the business.
  • Work pro-actively with the HR Business Partner on complex cases.

What you’ll need:

We are looking for someone confident, organised and helpful with at least 2 years' experience in an ER role, preferably in a logistics environment.

You’ll need to have a flexible attitude to travelling to our work sites across Essex and East London to support managers in case meetings.

You will hold CIPD Level 5 or above and have good general IT skills. You will be solution-orientated with an ability to own complex issues and manage them through to completion.

It is desirable for candidates to have previous experience working in a unionised environment.
