As our H Head of Technology - Diagnostics and Secondary Care you’ll contribute to our Nuffield Health purpose to build a healthier nation by creating and executing a transformational roadmap of activity to improve our technology offering across the diagnostics and secondary care areas of the business.


You’ll be at the forefront of driving technological advancements that empower our beneficiaries and our healthcare practitioners and improve patient care. Your role will involve strategic leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams / squads, and the implementation of state-of-the-art technology solutions.


As our Head of Technology - Diagnostics and Secondary Care, you will:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy for diagnostics and secondary care.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the technology team / squad, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Identify emerging technologies and trends in diagnostics and secondary care.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions to enhance diagnostic accuracy and streamline secondary care processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, healthcare professionals, and external partners to understand needs and align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive successful technology implementations.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing squad of technology professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and professional growth.
  • Ensure that all technology solutions comply with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in the regulatory landscape and adjust strategies accordingly.


To succeed as our Head of Technology - Diagnostics and Secondary Care, you will have:


  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior digital or technology role.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills. Able to build and retain the confidence of stakeholders through your exceptional impact and influence.
  • An inspiring technology leader able to lead multidisciplinary teams who can influence up to and including Executive Leadership Team level.
  • Significant experience of delivering large, complex technology programmes
  • Experience of healthcare technology with a specific focus on secondary care i.e. EPR.
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced, complex technology function and delivering outstanding results.
  • Strong communicator that able to articulate vision and gain buy in competently.
  • Strong technology partner management experience, ideally in a healthcare setting.
