We are seeking an experienced Head of Technology to play a pivotal role in the success of launching and executing the tech for a multi-site event in London.



This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the entire scope of this hugely innovative digital project, project-managing internal resources and outsourced vendors. A truly CV defining opportunity




Role Overview:

For this event to be a success, IT customer experience must be seamless, making this hire, critical



As the Head of Technology/IT, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology infrastructure, digital innovations, and data security for this major multi-site conference festival. This is a huge project management role



You will develop the internal and external event technology architecture in partnership with vendors/agencies and be accountable for customer experience and the effectiveness of the Event's App (the build and design is managed by a third party).



Additionally, you will oversee and ensure seamless data security and the general festival digital security roadmap, ticketing solutions, and system architecture integration, besides negotiating mobile/data supplier partnerships etc




Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Infrastructure: Oversee all technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and operation across all venues.


  • Digital Innovation: Lead digital innovation initiatives, ensuring cutting-edge technology enhances the festival experience.


  • Vendor Management: Manage all technology vendors and their contracts, ensuring high-quality service and support.


  • Technical Delivery: Oversee the success of multi-site internet connectivity and technical delivery in collaboration with production partners.


  • Project Management: Manage the internal digital project, including negotiations with mobile network partners, laptop suppliers, and IT office management.


  • Customer Experience: Ensure the Festival App's effectiveness and seamless customer experience, working with third-party developers.


  • Data Security: Oversee data security measures and the festival's digital security roadmap.


  • Ticketing Solutions: Ensure all ticketing systems and related architecture (Finance back office, Salesforce, Slack, etc.) operate seamlessly.


  • Website Implementation: Manage the website implementation process, ensuring it meets project requirements and integrates smoothly (build managed by a third party).





Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within large-scale events or festivals.
  • Strong background in managing technology infrastructure and digital innovation projects at scale.
  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex, multi-site technical projects.
  • Strong understanding of data security and digital security measures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with customer-facing technology solutions, including mobile apps and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • You are naturally entrepreneurial and have loads of ideas around digital innovation and CX
