Ideally located within an hour’s commute from Eastbourne, Hastings, Uckfield, Burgess Hill, Crawley, Tonbridge, Brighton, Horsham, Worthing.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Manager to join a business specialising in manufacturing bespoke solutions and products for a global customer base across the Aerospace, Defence, and Engineering sectors. As the Technical Sales Manager, you will be crucial in uncovering new business opportunities and enhancing relationships with our current customers. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership team to create and implement a strategic sales plan. Leveraging your expertise and industry insights, you will stay informed about market trends and competitor activities to inform our sales tactics.
Technical Sales Manager Skills & Requirements:
- Degree or HND in an engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience across the engineering/manufacturing sector with technical sales/solution sales of large scale capital plant equipment and machinery.
- Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you should have substantial experience in selling large-scale capital equipment, plant machinery, machinery in a manufacturing, assembly, process or production environment.
- Engage in both technical and commercial discussions with clients across various levels.
- Build and sustain a robust pipeline with sufficient growth potential to meet revenue and gross margin targets.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the technical features and functions of our products.
- Prepare detailed technical proposals with high levels of technical and financial precision.
- Generate weekly sales performance and platform reports.
- Provide insights on customers, competitors, opportunities, market trends, pipeline, and other sales-related activities during weekly sales meetings.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to foster close working relationships with clients, prospects, and team members.
- Demonstrate a self-driven attitude with a commitment to achieving excellence in all undertaken activities.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the board.
- Attend industry exhibitions and conferences.
- The position is based on site, with potential travel within the UK and internationally to support our global customer base. This role cannot be performed remotely due to its nature. Therefore you would need to be located within a reasonable commute from the office.
