Summary

JD Ross are supporting a developer with significant investment, who are developing solar, wind, battery storage and data centre projects. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced candidate, to lead their development team and drive their strategic growth in the UK renewable energy industry. This role requires a leader with a thorough understanding of the solar, wind and battery energy storage landscape, strong managerial skills, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions. The successful candidate will be ready to take the next step to progress your career and lead the team responsible for a variety of renewable energy developments throughout the project life-cycle, from origination site prospects to project RTB/financial close.


PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Development Team are responsible for the management and development of grid-connected ground mount solar, onshore wind, storage and co-located projects across the UK. Other energy technologies and associated asset classes are also under review. The Head of Development will take responsibility for the development arm of the company.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the Strategic Planning and Execution of Development Projects: Develop and implement the overall strategy for the development team, aligning with the company's mission, vision, and goals.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all development projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, budget constraints, and timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the Development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, governmental bodies, and industry partners to facilitate smooth project development and execution.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensure all development activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in development projects, implementing strategies to avoid delays and cost overruns
  • Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to the senior leadership team, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
  • Industry Insight: Keep abreast of the latest trends and technological advancements in the solar energy sector, integrating new techniques and tools where appropriate.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the team on wider development challenges and opportunities
  • Work closely with other internal discipline areas including real estate and communications
