Manager - Venues & Teams, Global Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing
The Global Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing team leads 40+ partnerships globally, delivering the best in ticket access, live event and digital experiences across Card Member passion points of sports, music and various other cultural interests.
The Manager in this role will sit on the International vertical within the broader Sponsorships and Experiential Marketing team, focusing on American Express International venues and teams' portfolios, alongside supporting on the International Sponsorships COE. They will lead on the strategy, activation development, execution and measurement of venues and team partnerships within the portfolio, collaborating with a 360 cross-functional team (internal and external) to launch fully integrated strategies and season plans. Frequent domestic travel required alongside infrequent international travel.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Spearhead the strategy and execution of the venue and teams partnerships, including on experiential activations, which include access and benefits for Card Members, prospect engagement, live activation planning and logistics, branding, partnership relations, utilization of contractual media and sponsorship assets and B2B hospitality programs.
- Collaborate with robust set of internal and external agency partners across Brand Planning, Media, Digital Products, Social/Advertising and PR to develop and execute plans surrounding our international partnerships
- Own and manage large scale budgets in partnership with the Finance team, ensuring close understanding of internal processes and ensuring project comes in at or under budget.
- Develop relationships across the American Express enterprise to further business and brand goals in creative ways for both business and consumer customers.
- Communicate regular planning updates as well as full activation plans in strategic, clear manner to American Express leadership.
- Represent American Express within the experiential marketing and entertainment industries to deepen relationships, knowledge, and development to continue to be on cutting edge of customer experience.
- Previous experience with focus area in sponsorships and experiential marketing/partnerships is a must.
- Proven track record in managing partners, cross-functional teams and agency partners
- Proven track record in creating a positive team culture with a hunger to learn and work as part of a close knit team.
- Must be able to link strategic goals to tactical execution
- A creative thinker, with a talent for problem solving and driving forward innovative ideas.
- Ability to move projects forward and meet deadlines with minimal oversight
- Ability to work under pressure, across multiple stakeholders with compressed timelines
- Maintain balance while managing various work streams while demonstrating strong leadership and composure
- Strong communication skills (crafting/delivering presentations), as well as executive presence with our partners.
