The data product approach was the natural methodology for achieving our vision, as it delivers immediate business value, democratises the use of data across teams, and scales innovation easily and securely.
You will be responsible for helping Modular Data grow by identifying new business opportunities and increasing revenue. You will work closely with marketing and the Chief Commercial Officer to operate in a collaborative go to market strategy.
Help to raise Modular Data’s visibility in the market and generate leads for the business by:
- Researching and attending appropriate events and conferences for networking, liaising with marketing to optimise success.
- Identifying opportunities to develop and improve sales materials.
- Manage Modular Data’s CRM system to ensure data on contacts, client accounts, leads, and opportunities are captured and tracked accurately.
- Manage all inbound leads to agreed service levels.
- Collaborate with marketing on promotional campaigns with agreed sales activity.
Identify, nurture, and close business opportunities by:
- Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales target in the public sector.
- Plan outbound sales campaigns (in collaboration with marketing as appropriate) to generate leads.
- Targeting accounts in key sectors.
- Building and nurturing relationships with key contacts at target accounts and in key industry organisations.
- Understand customer needs and problems, and be able to effectively develop plans for how we can solve those problems.
- Conduct compelling presentations and demonstrations of our solutions, effectively communicating their benefits and addressing the specific customer needs.
- Liaise with the technical product team to develop appropriate solutions to customer problems.
- Creating simple quotations and supporting the development of estimates and narratives to support new statements of work.
- Manage CRM system to ensure data on contacts, client accounts, leads, and opportunities are captured and tracked accurately.
- Regular reporting on sales effectiveness and success.
- Monitoring Government frameworks and portals for tender opportunities.
- Coordinating development and timely submission of proposals in response to all stages of a formal procurement.
- Building and maintaining a library of valuable narratives, diagrams, case studies and testimonials.
- Responsible for social value responses in all formal tender responses.
- Managing your own workload, administration, and diary commitments.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date administration and storing work in appropriate digital folders.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all Modular Data services and products to promote them effectively.
- Complying with Health & Safety requirements.
- Complying with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations and the Data Protection Act and cooperating with changes introduced to comply with this legislation.
You will have 5 years experience of working in public sector business development, with a strong understanding of public sector procurement. The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent by experience) and will possess the following skills and traits:
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Ideally have an existing contact network within the public sector and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A great team player, respecting and valuing the contributions of others across the organisation.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
- Smart and professional presentation at all times.
- Confidence and professional
- High proficiency in IT, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work flexibly to suit the needs of the business.
