Power BI Analyst/Developer

Requirement for an experienced PowerBI Analyst & Developer with PowerBI design, development, report creation, logic/configuration, formatting and presentation for 1yr to work within the Credit Risk MI Project and BACB IT to deliver a tactical Credit Risk MI reporting solution and support delivery of the strategic bank-wide management information PowerBI capability.


Experienced PowerBI Analyst & Developer to own & deliver the following milestones within the Credit Risk MI project and across the broader bank-wide PowerBI Management Information capability delivery:

Define detail technical design to address approved detail requirements in BRD & Traceability Matrix:

  • Daily positions to be auto-saved in a logical structure, for record purposes (audit trail) and to feed into Risk MI platform for trend analysis
  • Capability to have data validation steps for the data feeds and appropriate controls for the End User Applications (EUA) being developed.
  • Implement an aggregation and consolidation engine within PowerBI using Report Manager daily extracts stored in FileShare and agreed Manual Key Spreadsheets stored in set locations for daily credit risk data aggregation (based on agreed credit risk foundation/ logic)
  • Capability to aggregate the extracted Credit risk data across portfolio (sourced from T24 and from manual worksheets)

Hold workshops with Credit Risk SME to design in scope Credit Risk MI PowerBI Reports & Dashboards:

  • To have all required data points (in line with the Credit Risk Data Dictionary), with credit risk reporting logic and treatment to be applied (in line with the Credit Risk Reporting Foundation Presentation)
  • Interactive MI with data links established so the user can perform drill downs and different data analysis.
  • Structured tables and charts for MI production in formats that will be agreed with Risk and Business part of the project. This will include the MI currently being produced by Credit and additional views that can be reasonably developed.
  • To have capability to pull together data being captured in PowerBI to produce trend analysis.
  • To include tracking and monitoring of Account performance/ activity & limit utilisation, Risk Appetite measures & Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) (which will be predefined), WatchList, Staging and NPL movements (month on month summary positions, grade changes and movements), internal grading changes, etc.
  • Capability to save Credit risk MI files in a logical structure, for record purposes (audit trail)

Using approved Tactical Solution High-Level Design (HLD), design & document:

  • Detail Architecture design (e.g. Report Manager SSRS extracts, Manual Excel file pick-up & storage, fileshare storage, PowerBI connectors)
  • Structured and secure (with adequate controls in place) feed of missing data points (not in T24 or Insight) sourced from other departments EUAs / reports. Appropriate templates to be developed with data feed to be delivered via Report Manager
  • Information Security design (e.g. report extracts, fileshare storage, PowerBI, Access Management, Data Classification, etc.)


  • Hold end-to-end design walk-through session between Credit Risk SME, Front Office SME, Technology and Project Team to review E2E Tactical Solution Detail Design
  • Update Data & MI, Technical & Information Security Design documents per feedback & updates agreed in E2E walk-though session
  • Complete PowerBI technical build with continuous alignment with Business SMEs to address approved detail requirements & design in BRD & Traceability Matrix
  • Complete associated development unit testing
  • Using approved Tactical Solution High-Level Design (HLD), complete technical fileshare build with continuous alignment with Business SMEs
  • Complete associated development unit testing covering detail Architecture design (e.g. Report Manager SSRS extracts, Manual Excel file pick-up & storage, fileshare storage, PowerBI connectors)
  • Train identified Credit Risk & Front Office testers and end-users.
  • Deploy Tactical Credit Risk MI solution into Production and grant Credit Risk, Front Office end-user access.
