Our Client is an award winning provider of international logistic and freight services, and provide a wide range of tailored solutions for clients' throughout the UK, Europe and Globally across all Worldwide trade routes.



Providing a valuable service to the branch Operations department in a supervisory role.


Principal Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Lead a small team of operational staff to oversee the efficient running of the

European Operations department on a day-to-day basis

• Oversee all aspects of freight operations for the branch, including cargo booking,

routing, tracking, documentation, Customs clearance and compliance with industry

regulations

• Plan weekly export trailers efficiently to maximise trailer payloads

• Develop key service relationships with customers, colleagues and overseas agents

to provide efficient and effective service

• Ensure good internal communication between key departments, Customs,

Transport, Warehouse to ensure efficient loading & transport of customer goods

• Resolving and managing customer/agent queries courteously and efficiently

• Adding charges and accruals to shipments

• Arranging all risks insurance for high value/client sensitive shipments

• Working with the team to align and streamline internal processes

• Deputise for the Branch Manager as and when required


Monday to Friday

0900 – 1730 hrs

1 hour lunch break



Required Experience & Skills

• Experience of working in a freight forwarding/logistics role, particularly European

road freight (essential)

• Experience of working in a supervisory role (desirable)

• Ability to load/plan/route export trailers for cost-effective groupage trailer planning

with experience in using weights, volumes and loading metres (desirable)

• Strong customer service skills

• Commercially aware

• Clear and confident communicator

• Analytical & accurate, with excellent attention to detail

• Assertive

• Computer literate and able to learn how to use new systems effectively

• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player

• Confident using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint

• Good attention to detail when handling data

• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload
