London, UK, United Kingdom Earthly Full time

About Earthly:

Earthly helps 650+ organisations remove carbon, restore nature and support communities through the world's leading nature-based projects that align with our client’s environmental and social goals. At the heart of our platform sits our rigorous project quality assessment that screens 106 data points across the interlinked pillars of carbon, biodiversity & people. We are proud to be helping hundreds of global companies derisk and optimise their ESG strategies by investing into the top 5% scoring nature-based projects.

We are proud to have received investment from Google, One Planet Capital and Evenlode Impact. Our project assessment has been recognised through recent awards including winning the COP27 ClimaTech prize, the World Economic Forum's 2023 NatureTech prize and being named 2023 start-up of the year at Retail Week Live. We are a 2024 Earthshot nominee and a 123 point scoring B Corp (top 5% scoring worldwide).

Our mission is to help protect and restore at least 1% of the planet by 2030.

Why focus on Nature-based Solutions?

We face two interlinked crises, climate breakdown and biodiversity collapse. Nature-based solutions (NbS) have the power to avert climate disasters and defend the living world by drawing carbon dioxide out of the air whilst also protecting and restoring ecosystems. Despite its critical significance, NbS receives just 3% of mitigation funding. Earthly seeks to bridge this financing gap by accelerating these crucial investments.

Who we are:

We are a team of entrepreneurs, engineers and scientists, all brought together with a

a shared passion for both reversing climate breakdown & restoring our planet. We have access to some of the world’s leading NbS scientists through our independent scientific board who support our decision-making & provide oversight and advice on project selection and verification.

Diversity Statement

At Earthly, we believe diversity is the cornerstone of innovation. We embrace uniqueness and continually strive for equity for all. Ultimately, our team powers Earthly. We want all our employees to feel valued and appreciated for who they are, where they come from, and what they've achieved. Our employee policy is designed to prevent discrimination against our people regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes them unique.

Your work will be critical to the success of Earthly and will include:

  • Establish, manage and grow relationships with existing and new buyers so as to drive delivery of Earthly sales strategy for growth across our platform.

  • Origination, structuring and execution of long-term offtake agreements and commercial deals for origination and spot procurements for various classes of carbon credit commodities from various credit providers (including brokers, conservation bodies, developers & governments)
  • Understanding of the main business driver of current and potential suppliers and buyers; with the ability to define the value of potential solutions, demonstrating an understanding of the buyer/supplier needs and product development to capture the imagination and interest of the customer
  • Stay current on market developments, identifying new regulation/legislation and industry trends, products, developments in the voluntary and compliance carbon market, and new trading/revenue opportunities and how they affect the network of buyers
  • Work alongside a dynamic team of commercial and product managers to attract new customers and drive revenue growth.
  • Actively engaging with the research teams and legal to ensure thorough risk management, trade execution, post-trade discipline and overall quality control is maintained.

Relevant candidates will likely have:

  • Education - Bachelor’s Degree: Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • Preferred - Higher degree or working experience in relevant subjects such as Sustainable Finance, Environmental Studies, Natural Capital
  • Required Experience - 8+ years experience in business and partnership development, sales, broker role or B2B sales in the Commodity/Financial markets; with a strong track record of sales, origination and relationship management
