The position:

AluK is looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead the global IT competence centre that has responsibility over networking and infrastructure at all AluK sites. As an experienced resource you will define and implement future security standards, create and lead the action plan to migrate to the new standards and monitor infrastructure availability according to the the agreed service level objectives. As a team leader you will lead, and take part of, several IT projects at the different AluK sites, and the Aluk cloud-based environment. You will report directly to the Head of IT.



Job responsibilities:

Your primary responsibility will be

  • to define long-term information system, network & security solutions
  • to lead the initiatives defined and assigned to your competence center
  • to proactively monitor all our infrastructure & network
  • to provide expert technical support to our other IT Competence center team members and users via phone, e-mail, Servicedesk portal and in-person where and when required.


Additional duties include:

  • Backup & (disaster) Recovery deployment & administration
  • Server (physical & virtual) provisioning and lifecylce management
  • Setting up an proactive monitoring and notification system to report on unexpected outages or reduced functionalities
  • Assist in application installation & maintenance
  • Define, manage and deploy group security policies
  • Define, manage & deploy network security architecture
  • Microsoft Azure hosting deployment, support & maintenance
  • Liaise with our infrastructure & network suppliers to build true partnerships
  • Look at current usage of our infrastructure and improve (capabilities & cost) where possible & needed



Job requirements:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Information technology
  • A full working proficiency in English is mandatory, any other language is considered a plus
  • Passion for innovation & a sophisticated understanding of technological systems and programming
  • Proven trackrecord of leading infrastructure & network related projects in previous careers
  • “Can-do” mentality
  • The ability to coordinate global projects and work together with remote team members
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Virtualization software, Veeam, Scripting, Encryption technologies, networking, Access control models, network and security monitoring tools
  • Experience or knowledge of one or more of the following: ITIL/ITSM, Agile, Scrum, Project Management (PMI / Prince),
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Interest for an international and multicultural environment
