Job Title: Project Execution EngineerLocation: QatarContract Type: Fixed-term / Project-based Working Hours: Standard project hoursJob Summary: We are supporting a major energy operator in the search for an experienced Project Execution Engineer to oversee the safe and timely delivery of medium-sized brownfield projects. This role provides broad technical expertise across engineering, project management, and construction, ensuring all activities meet required standards, specifications, and project objectives. The position requires strong coordination across multiple stakeholders, effective risk management, and hands-on oversight of project execution from planning through close-out.Key Responsibilities: Assess project risks and develop suitable mitigation measures to protect schedule and scope. Lead specialised areas of brownfield project execution and ensure compliance with internal project management systems and procedures. Prepare project execution plans, schedules, and readiness deliverables for each project phase. Identify, track, and manage all external interfaces and commercial agreements related to shared or third-party facilities. Develop scopes of work for engineering, procurement, and construction tender packages and ensure project requirements are accurately captured. Participate in procurement activities, including prequalification, bid preparation, evaluation, negotiation, award, and contract administration. Support and monitor contractor performance during FEED, EPC, and vendor activities to ensure compliance with specifications, quality, and schedule. Review site activities, contractor performance, and technical issues; ensure compliance with change management processes. Provide multi-disciplinary technical support and contribute to evaluations, investigations, and problem resolution. Support cost estimating, cost monitoring, and overall cost stewardship throughout project execution. Maintain close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives. Guide and support less experienced engineers to ensure consistent application of project execution standards and reliability practices. Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Experience: Minimum 8 years experience in the oil and gas industry. At least 5 years experience in a project management role within brownfield project environments. Strong background working in multi-disciplinary project teams. Technical and Business Skills: Excellent written and spoken English. Strong knowledge of engineering standards and practices. Proficient with standard engineering tools, planning systems, and office applications. Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving ability. Ability to manage multiple inputs and activities simultaneously while maintaining quality and control. Behavioural Competencies: Strong understanding of safety, health, environment, and quality principles. Ability to plan, organise, and deliver activities under pressure. Effective teamwork, communication, and stakeholder engagement. High integrity, professionalism, and sound judgement. Ability to coach and support junior team members. Work Environment: Brownfield project sites requiring coordination across engineering, construction, operations, and external stakeholders. Fast-paced environment with multiple parallel activities and demanding deadlines.
