Our interpretation of BIM / IM is perhaps wider than others.We are seeking to elevate the seniority of these roles as a professional discipline, to provide more direct leadership on projects in establishing appropriate ways of working whilst meeting client and our own internal development needs.Your roleWe are seeking a Document Controller with extensive industrial experience to join our team. This critical role within our delivery team involves delivering document control services, engaging and supporting stakeholders across projects, and implementing project-specific Information Management (IM) requirements and procedures.The Document Controller will report to the Senior Document Controller and undertake Document Control and Systems Administration work while supporting IM requirements at a project level. Additionally, they will play a crucial part in training and communication activities within the Nuclear sector of AtkinsRéalis. This experienced individual will facilitate the development of our Document Control team and support our larger programmes and projects, providing support, guidance, and expertise to the wider information management team, broader delivery teams, and clients.The Document Controller ensures that project documentation is correctly managed, stored, and distributed in line with internal procedures and industry standards. This role supports project teams by maintaining document control systems and workflows, contributing to efficient project delivery and compliance.Responsibilities:Document Management:Register, track, and manage documents in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).Maintain version control and ensure document integrity.Support document handover, archiving, and closeout processes.Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 and project-specific standards.Workflow & Systems Support:Assist in managing document workflows and approval processes.Support the use of the Common Data Environment (CDE).Provide first-line support for document control systems (e.g. ProjectWise, Aconex, SharePoint).Project Support:Liaise with project teams and subcontractors to ensure document control requirements are met.Support onboarding and training of project staff in document control procedures.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the IM team.Reporting:Maintain document trackers and generate status reports.Support audit preparation and compliance reporting.Behaviours:Skill Set: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to problem solve.
