Job Title: Interim Head of Finance Operations ]Location: West Midlands (Hybrid - 3 days in office) Day Rate: £500 - £550 per day Duration: 6 Months Start Date: ASAPA prestigious and well-established professional services organisation in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance Operations to lead its transactional finance function during a critical period of transformation and operational optimisation.This is a high-profile interim assignment offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a large, complex finance environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 30 finance professionals, covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and Finance Administration.Key Responsibilities of the Interim Head of Financial Operations will include:Providing strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the transactional finance functionOversee the delivery of high-volume AP and AR processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and complianceLead the cash and banking operations, including cash flow forecasting, reconciliations, and treasury supportDrive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational performanceEnsure robust financial controls and governance across all transactional activitiesCollaborate with senior stakeholders across finance, IT, and operations to align finance operations with broader business objectivesSupport the development and mentoring of team leaders and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvementDeliver timely and insightful reporting to senior leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance metricsTo be considered, you must:Have a recognisable accounting qualification or a relevant educational backgroundHave a strong track record of managing transactional finance teams within a shared services environment, including AP, AR, and cash/banking functionsHave excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop large teamsBe commercially aware with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholdersAvailability to start immediately or within short noticeBe Midlands based.
