Job DescriptionRoad Freight OperatorWithamFull-Time, Monday to Friday - Office BasedSalary: Up to £30,000 (DOE)We're looking for an experienced and proactive Road Freight Operator with strong groupage experience to join our dynamic team in Basildon. If you have a solid background in UK and European road freight operations and are ready to take the next step in your logistics career, we'd love to hear from you.The RoleAs a Road Freight Operator, you'll be responsible for managing the full coordination of road freight shipments, with a strong focus on LTL/groupage services. You'll ensure deliveries are handled efficiently, on time, and with excellent service throughout. Working closely with customers, hauliers, and depots across the UK and Europe, you'll handle all routing, documentation, and compliance with precision and care.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate groupage (LTL) and full load (FTL) shipments across the UK and EuropePlan and book transport using subcontractors and in-house fleet where applicablePrepare and process all relevant documentation including CMRs, PODs, and customs paperworkMonitor and track shipments, providing timely updates to customersEnsure compliance with UK and EU transport regulations and internal proceduresLiaise with internal teams, hauliers, and overseas partners to ensure smooth operationsSupport the Road Freight Manager with day-to-day operational tasksWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 1 years' experience in UK and European road freight forwardingEssential: Proven experience handling groupage (LTL) shipmentsStart to finish operations in a road freight position Strong knowledge of FTL and groupage proceduresConfident in using freight/transport management systems and preparing transport documentationExcellent communication and organisational skillsAbility to multitask and work well under pressureTeam player with a proactive, solutions-driven attitudeWhat's On OfferCompetitive salary up to £30,000, depending on experienceFull-time, Monday to Friday working hoursSupportive and professional team environmentReal opportunities for career development and progressionWR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
