Our London headquarters serves as the hub for our operations, where we foster a collaborative and dynamic environment within a regulated framework, adhering to both financial and insurance regulatory standards.About the OpportunityWe are seeking a Claims Manager to join our busy team based in London. This full-time role (35 hours per week) offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a requirement to work in our London office on Tuesdays & Wednesday.About the RoleTo handle claims, primarily under the supervision of Senior Claims Managers and/or Associate Directors, to minimise third party claims against the Club's Members in a cost-effective and flexible manner.ResponsibilitiesTo have overall control of claims from inception to completion in line with the claims procedures in the Quality Manual, always making due reference to the Senior Claims Managers and/or Associate Directors as necessary.Where appropriate experience has been gained, to carry out the day-to-day handling of a narrow range of claim types without supervision.After due consultation with the Senior Claims Managers and/or the Associate Directors and/or Members as may be appropriate, to appoint and oversee service providers to handle the claims effectively and raise any issues of concern with the Associate Director.To liaise with Members to ensure their reasonable needs/requirements/instructions are fully met by clear presentation and interaction.To reserve appropriately both in terms of entering an initial reserve promptly and keeping the reserve under review, in conjunction with administering the electronic claims records and provision of proper reporting to Line Managers and Claims Review Board (CRB) and ensuring all Estimate Authority Exceeded (EAX's) are approved, as required.To attend events/courses and ensure knowledge base widens to cover all types of claims.To provide advice on specific claims types, as required, to Members.To contribute to Club knowledge management & Club publications, such as Stoploss or Club News, on request from the editorial teams.QualificationsN/A - This is an entry Level position.Experience gained within a Club.Studying the P&IQ with some exams obtained.Required SkillsCargo claim knowledge as a minimum. A broad understanding of P&I and shipping.Use of e-mail, word processing and a claims handling recording systems/software.Preferred SkillsGeneral average, fixed and floating objects, collision claim experience is all preferred.
