Join our Electronic Hardware team and contribute to the design and development of world-class underwater acoustic systems, data loggers, Doppler velocity logs, and more.This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges.As an Electronics Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting the electronics and embedded firmware that power our subsea instruments.If you join you will be:Designing digital (FPGA & MPU) and analogue electronics with a focus on low power consumption and low-noise performanceEnsuring all designs meet EMC requirements, contributing to EMC testing and complianceLeading hardware design reviews and evaluating techniques to choose the best engineering solutionsDeveloping embedded C and/or C++ applications for microprocessorsPerforming hands-on electronics and embedded software fault-findingProducing high-quality documentation to support development and future maintenanceStaying ahead of industry trends, tools, and technologiesSupporting continuous improvement of engineering processesSome travel is required, including visits to our Plymouth trial site.Were looking for a proactive engineer with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.Ideally we would like:Expert in analogue and digital electronics design, including simulation and low-power techniquesCompetent in designing for EMC and understanding standards such as EN60945Competent in Altium for schematic design and basic PCB layout principlesCompetent in C programming; basic understanding of C++Strong documentation skillsHands-on fault-finding and production support experienceAbility to collaborate effectively across teams2:1 or above in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related disciplineLeadership & TeamworkWhile this role has no direct reports, you will be expected to mentor colleagues, guide design decisions, and uphold quality standards across engineering and production support.Why Join Us?If you want to help deliver innovative subsea technologies that make a real impact in marine, defence, offshore, and science industries, this role offers the chance to work at the forefront of ocean engineering with a team that values quality, curiosity, and technical excellence.Ready to dive into your engineering career?Apply now and help us create the next generation of subsea technology.JBRP1_UKTJ
