About the Company

Our client is a pioneering technology company developing next-generation environmental sensors and data systems that help utilities monitor and improve water quality. Their end-to-end solutions span hardware, communications, and data analytics, empowering customers with real-time insights that prevent incidents and support cleaner, safer infrastructure.

They're innovators at heart — a growing team of engineers and scientists working together to tackle complex, real-world challenges through clever design and cutting-edge technology.

The Role

As an Electronics Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining a suite of advanced sensor products built around low-power, high-sensitivity electronics and embedded software.

You'll work across the full hardware lifecycle — from concept and circuit design through to testing, production, and deployment — collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve performance and reliability.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative product development within a close-knit engineering team where your ideas and technical input will directly shape new solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain electronic hardware and embedded software for sensor products.
  • Create and update multilayer PCB designs, schematics, and documentation.
  • Support and improve existing products, resolving issues such as part obsolescence.
  • Develop low-power analogue circuits and high-sensitivity measurement systems.
  • Contribute to firmware development in C for embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver reliable, manufacturable designs.
  • Maintain and improve in-house production and test equipment.
  • Participate in engineering reviews and continuous process improvement.

About You

You'll be a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working collaboratively on real-world products.

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of analogue and low-power circuit design.
  • Experience with multilayer PCB layout and schematic interpretation.
  • Proficient in C programming for embedded software development.
  • Confident with fault-finding across hardware, sensors, and firmware.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Collaborative, hands-on approach and enthusiasm for innovation.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with technical documentation and design validation.
  • Familiarity with IoT, telecoms, or RF systems.
  • Interest in automated calibration or CAD/mechanical design.
  • Exposure to additional languages (C++, C#, Python, PHP).
  • Strong soldering skills or willingness to develop them.

Working Environment & Benefits

  • Hybrid working (typically 3 days onsite).
  • Flexible working hours with supportive learning environment.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme (salary-sacrifice with employer contribution).
  • Eyecare allowance and cycle-to-work scheme.
