Job DescriptionAssociate – EL/PL & Complex Injury (Defendant)Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)Salary: Up to £70,000 D.O.E + excellent benefitsWe’re working with a leading national defendant law firm seeking a talented Clinical Negligence Associate/ Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join their highly regarded healthcare team in Birmingham.The OpportunityYou’ll handle a varied and engaging caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims on behalf of major insurers, private hospitals, and independent healthcare providers.Your work will span from early investigation and pre-litigation strategy through to fully contested litigation, with the chance to work closely alongside experienced partners and senior lawyers who are recognised nationally for their healthcare expertise.You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team that delivers exceptional service to clients while maintaining a friendly, down-to-earth culture.Typical Work Includes\tManaging a broad range of medical negligence claims for insured private healthcare clients.\tInvestigating liability and engaging in pre-litigation resolution.\tRunning multi-track clinical negligence cases through to trial.\tAdvising on coverage, indemnity, and insurer protocols.\tRegular client contact and involvement in training and business development activities.\t About You\tQualified Solicitor – ideally 5+ PQE.\tExperience (or strong interest) in defendant clinical negligence or healthcare litigation.\tStrong understanding of insurer-led work and client protocols.\tExcellent attention to detail, communication, and drafting skills.\tOrganised, proactive and able to handle complex medical and legal issues.\t What’s on Offer\tCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.\tGenuine career progression and early responsibility.\tHybrid working model (typically 2 days in office / 3 days from home).\tExposure to high-value, technically complex medical negligence cases.
