Job DescriptionAbout the CompanyI’m working with a respected commercial fit-out contractor delivering CAT A, CAT B and refurbishment projects for a wide range of clients across workplace, retail, leisure and mixed-use sectors. The business is known for its technical excellence, practical design approach and close collaboration between design, commercial and delivery teams.With continued growth in project demand and increased focus on design quality, they’re now seeking a skilled Technical Designer to strengthen their in-house design function and support the seamless translation of concepts into fully coordinated, build-ready technical information.About the RoleAs Technical Designer, you will focus on producing accurate, detailed and technically compliant drawing packages to support commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects. Working closely with the design, estimating and project delivery teams, you’ll ensure that all design outputs meet client requirements, align with specifications and reflect real-world buildability.Key responsibilities include: * Producing detailed technical drawings, construction packs and joinery details for CAT A/B fit-out schemes. * Translating concept and GA designs into coordinated technical documentation. * Creating and managing Revit and AutoCAD models/drawings in line with project BIM or CAD standards. * Working with project managers, estimators and subcontractors to review specifications, resolve queries and address buildability challenges. * Coordinating with MEP consultants, structural teams and specialist suppliers to ensure technical alignment across disciplines. * Preparing schedules, elevations, sections and detailed component/assembly drawings. * Ensuring all technical outputs comply with building regulations, industry standards and internal QA processes. * Supporting site teams during delivery, providing technical clarification and design updates where required.Rewards & Benefits * Competitive salary depending on experience. * Opportunity to work within a design-focused commercial fit-out environment. * High levels of project variety, from workplace refurbishments to full CAT B schemes. * Professional development opportunities, including software training and pathway to Senior Technical Designer. * Supportive and collaborative team culture. * Hybrid working options once fully integrated into the team. * Company benefits package including pension, travel costs and more.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will ideally bring: * Experience in a technical design or detailing role within commercial interiors, fit-out, joinery or architectural sectors. * Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for technical drawing production. * Solid understanding of construction methods, joinery detailing, materials and fit-out sequencing. * Ability to interpret and develop concept designs into accurate technical packages. * Confidence working with consultants, suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical queries. * Knowledge of building regulations, compliance requirements and industry standards. * Excellent attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving ability. * A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple drawing packages to tight deadlines. * A relevant design or technical qualification is desirable
