Job DescriptionOur client is seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee and coordinate all design and technical information for a major public realm project. The role sits at the heart of the project, bridging design, commercial, and site teams to ensure drawings, specifications, supplier designs, and subcontractor information are complete, accurate, and buildable.The Design Manager will manage the full lifecycle of design information, maintain version control, and ensure all outputs meet client requirements. They will liaise with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and the client team to deliver high-quality, coordinated designs on schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and integrate design information from consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and client teamsReview drawings, specifications, and bespoke items for accuracy, compliance, and buildabilityMaintain version control and issue approved information for constructionLead design coordination meetings and track actions, decisions, and deadlinesSupport site teams with technical queries, mock-ups, and buildability reviewsEnsure design outputs align with the project programme and procurement schedulesSkills & ExperienceExperience as a Design Manager, Design Coordinator, or Project EngineerStrong technical knowledge and ability to interpret drawings and specificationsExperience coordinating multidisciplinary and supplier/subcontractor designsUnderstanding of design approval processes, change control, and buildabilityQualificationsDegree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Structural Engineering, or similarExperience in contractor or consultancy environmentsProfessional memberships (ICE, CIAT, LI, CIOB, RIBA) desirablePersonal AttributesHighly organised with strong attention to detailExcellent communicator, able to bridge design and delivery teamsProactive, solutions-focused, and able to work under pressureThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Manager to take ownership of a high-profile public realm project, ensuring design quality, compliance, and smooth delivery from concept to handover.Premier Recruitment Solutions Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
