You will be responsible for creating engaging, high-quality content that amplifies our mission, celebrates our beneficiaries, and mobilises public support.What are we looking for?Qualifications And ExperienceA background or degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred. Demonstrated practical experience managing professional social media accounts (beyond personal use) and proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, basic video editing) are highly desirable. Experience working with a non-profit organization or understanding the principles of ethical storytelling in international development is beneficial. Experience in non-profit, education, or STEM-related initiatives is an asset but not mandatory.Skills And CompetenciesCreative Writing Excellent ability to write punchy, engaging, and error-free copy for digital consumption.Visual Literacy Strong eye for compelling visual content and basic graphic design skills.Digital Fluency Proficiency in social media platforms, analytics tools, and content scheduling systems.Initiative Ability to proactively seek out stories and independently manage tasks and deadlines in a remote environment.Interpersonal Communication Excellent ability to collaborate with in-country partners to obtain sensitive content.What will you be doing?Key ResponsibilitiesContent Strategy Develop and maintain a quarterly content calendar for all key social media channels (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter), ensuring consistent, purpose-driven messaging.Creation & Curation Write, edit, and source engaging posts, infographics, short videos, and multimedia content that highlight project milestones, student achievements, and equipment reuse success stories.Digital Campaign Management Design and execute at least one major digital fundraising or awareness campaign during the volunteer tenure.Community Engagement Actively monitor and engage with comments and messages across all channels, fostering a positive, responsive online community.Website Updates Assist in maintaining and updating website content (e.g., news section, volunteer profiles) to ensure it is current, accessible, and accurately reflects our brand.Storytelling Work with in-country partners to collect impactful testimonials, photos, and video clips from beneficiaries, ensuring all safeguarding protocols are followed.Performance Monitoring Track and analyse social media metrics (reach, engagement, conversion rates) and provide a monthly report with actionable recommendations for improvement.Brand Compliance Ensure all external communications adhere to ECO STEM AFRICA's brand guidelines, tone, and mission integrity.Expected Outcomes / DeliverablesContent Calendar Implement a structured, monthly content calendar across all primary social media channels.Growth Metrics Achieve a quantifiable increase in social media engagement (e.g., 20% increase in average post reach or followers) during the tenure.Impact Collection Produce a library of at least 10 high-quality, approved impact stories (text/visual) for use in donor and public communications.Campaign Report Design and report on one successful digital awareness campaign with clear targets and results.
