The Royal Anglian Regiment Museum is a partner museum located at Duxford Airfield, the museum covers the history of the Regiment from 1958 to present.
**Job description**
The Royal Anglian Regiment is located at IWM Duxford, our collections are based on the military history of the East Anglian and Royal Anglian Regiment which served from 1958 onwards. There is scope for activities from the First and Second World Wars as well for events.
We are looking for education and outreach volunteers. These are for events such as flying showcase days, learning and kids activities and education for army cadet learning. Volunteers for this role would ideally be passionate about learning and have an interest in military history. However, knowledge of military history isn’t a prerequisite and can be taught in the role.
Tasks include:
- Help set-up events ready before groups arrive
- Help deliver events
- Handling objects from our extensive collection
- Work with children and adults during event days
- Facilitate small school groups and cadet groups around our museum on site
- Other administrative tasks which may arise from time to time
Level of commitment:
We are looking for volunteers to help with educational activities from February onwards. We request that volunteers assist with possible tours, events and helping to run any events that are scheduled for school half term.
Skills and experience - we are looking for people with:
- An interest in military history
- A passion for working with children and adults
- A positive, consistent approach to tasks
- Ability to contribute as part of a team and individually
- Desire to learn about the museum collections and share information with the public
