The majority of placements are b1:1 tuition sessionsb, delivered in the student's home, a local library, or a designated community space, focused on key subjects such as bEnglish, Maths, and Scienceb (or other subjects based on your specialism).This role is crucial in ensuring educational continuity for students who may have experienced significant trauma, high anxiety, refusal to attend school, or have complex SEN that prevent them from accessing a full-time school timetable. You will act as a consistent, patient, and highly skilled educator, building rapport and helping the student achieve their academic goals and transition back into a suitable learning environment.bKey ResponsibilitiesbbPlan, resource, and deliver highly personalised 1:1 tuitionb across required subjects (typically core subjects), tailored specifically to the student's academic level, EHCP targets, and individual needs.Establish a bstrong, professional, and trusting relationshipb with the student, providing consistent emotional and educational support.bAdapt teaching methods in real-timeb to manage fluctuating emotional and educational needs, using flexible and trauma-informed approaches.Liaise closely with the local authority, case managers, parents/carers, and other professionals (e.g., CAMHS) to ensure a cohesive support plan.bMaintain meticulous recordsb of sessions, attendance, and progress, contributing detailed reports on the student's academic and emotional development.Promote bre-engagement and positive learning behavioursb, focusing on foundational skills and building confidence.bRequirementsbbProven teaching experienceb is essential.
