We have an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join our manufacturing team at our Memory Lane Cakes site as part of Finsbury Food Group.

Our Memory Lane Cakes site is part of our Cake Division within Finsbury Food Group. They make over 75% of the UK’s sharing cakes from retailer own brands cakes, tray bakes through to party cakes like Caterpillar cakes. They employ over 850 people on site and the sites runs 24/7, which encompasses a culture of teamwork, friendly and respectful leadership and a focus on continuous improvement at all levels.

Although not essential, this role would be ideal for an Engineering graduate with a good understanding of LEAN methodology, who is looking to cut their teeth putting this knowledge in to practice. Ir is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience with one of the UK’s largest bakery businesses, along with great opportunities for growth and development.

The CI Coordinator is a fast-paced role that will help identify ways to make our production process more efficient and profitable. It will help facilitate a culture of continuous improvement and LEAN methodologies across our cross-functional manufacturing team. You will help embed the Company’s Operational Excellence programme by supporting and coaching manufacturing teams in the tools and processes required..

To be successful in this role, you will need to be comfortable working at pace in a changing environment. Persistence is a must as is the ability to communicate well with people at all levels. An analytical and logical mind, along with good IT skills, will help you identify waste and loss in our processes. A basic understanding of LEAN tools is also required.

**This is what you’ll actually do**

You will support the CI Lead to in analysing our end-to-end production processes to identify waste and losses. Once identified, you will support project teams to eliminate these wastes by coaching team members in the necessary tools and methods required. You will also help implement systematic ways of working aimed at improving the efficiency of our factory.

- A good understanding of LEAN tools and methodology.
- Comfortable working at pace in a changing environment.
- Able to think logically and carry out workplace analysis.
- Comfortable communicating with people at all levels.
