**Role - Junior Data Scientist**

**Location - Manchester (can be up to 60% remote)**

**Skills - Python is the only essential, full training can be provided in AzureML platform**

**Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 plus 10% bonus.**

Oscar Technology have partnered with a growing business in Manchester to find their next data scientist. I have placed Data Scientists within this team before and it's a really good environment for learning new skills, very collaborative and there is a lotof training and development planned.

Joining a team of 4 other Data Scientists and 1 Data Engineer you will work to solve challenging AI problems particularly around 2 main areas - Marketing & Advertising and Pricing. These are 2 business critical functions and therefore you will engage witha wide variety of stakeholders.

There is a huge learning opportunity in this role, we are ideally looking for someone who has a strong focus on self-development and improvement. We are looking to consider people with the following backgrounds.
- Degree Qualifications in Data Science
- A little experience as a Data Scientist (possible 2nd role)
- An Analyst (with some Python) who is looking to transition to a Data Science

This role can be done on a 2/3 split with 2 days a week working from home. This can increase to 3 days from home in the future. The office is based North Manchester, near the M60. It is commutable from the city centre by train (then a short walk)

**The Role**

You will be working on updating and deploying new machine learning models within 2 key business areas, these are Marketing & Advertising and Pricing /Trading. These models are crucial to the running of day-to-day operations for the business and as such theData Science team are relied upon by a variety of stakeholders, you will get to work directly with these stakeholders.

They already have an established team for you to learn new skills from and will be looking to upskill you and coach best practise along with new technologies. The position is very much Python based, SQL and Git would be helpful.

They use the Azure Machine Learning platform for the majority of their work and full training will be provided on this. This really is an excellent role for someone wanting to upskill quickly and learn cutting edge technology and work with some really keymodels.

**Skills**
- Experience as a Data Scientist in Industry, or qualifications in the field or experience as an analyst.
- We do need Python programming skills as an essential requirement.

We are looking for a driven, motivated individual with an analytical mind-set. You will a keen interest in Data Science and delivering business changing insight.
