**Role: Senior Data Scientist** **Location: Manchester** **Salary: up to £45,000 + 15% Bonus + Benefits** **Skills: Python / SQL / Machine Learning** **Work Pattern - Hybrid role, 2 days a week in the office** **The Company** Oscar Technology have worked with this client for 6 years to build their Data Team. This is a great team to be a part of, in the past we placed their "Head of" (who at the time was an analyst but has progressed). They always look to promote from within andthey have a dedicated grad scheme for Data Science to ensure they always have strong, well-trained individuals in the team. The company have a variety of Data Driven products within the business, these are business critical, and the team are responsible for the development, upgrades and maintenance of these. Overall they use a variety of Machine Learning techniques and the roleis fairly broad. They have an excellent benefits package which includes a bonus, excellent pension contribution and loads of other benefits. They also have a very flexible approach to working hours and offer a hybrid working pattern **The Role** You will be building and integrating data analytics products, evaluating data outputs prior to use across the business and surfacing key evidence-backed insights from data and produce visualisations. This position does have some mentoring and management aspects to it. They are looking for this person to mentor a graduate / junior data scientist who is starting out in their career. They are predominantly a Python / AWS environment but do have some pre-existing models in R. **Responsibilities** - Use machine learning to solve complex business problems in various domains. - Produce compelling data stories backed by powerful visualisations. - Development of ML Products for use within the business. - Writing and reviewing SQL and Python code, aligned to current team best practices - Line Manage and mentor a graduate or junior Data Scientist. - Use leading technologies to tackle major strategic initiatives. **Skills** - Programming - Python / SQL - Machine Learning - Proven experience needed **The Person** We are looking for a driven, motivated individual with leadership qualities.
