Personal Learning Coordinator Tutor

Join the highly respected team of Personal Learning Co-ordinator Tutors at National Star. We have a full time maternity cover role available working between Monday - Friday over 40 weeks (term time plus one week).
It will be your job to put together learning programmes for students with Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD) such as Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Multi-Sensory Impairments and/ or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Typically, the learners you would be teaching are learning at an early years to early key stage 1 level.
Multi-disciplinary work will be critical in your role so that you can ensure students maximise their learning, boosting their independence and wellbeing to prepare them for life after college. A large part of your role will involve liaising with other staff, external professionals and students’ parents, as well as monitoring, recording and optimising the progress of learners.
It goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator, who is creative, proactive and forward-thinking with excellent organisational skills.
You will have experience of working with people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities such as ASC and/ or profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will hold a relevant level 3 or 4 professional qualification and ideally have or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification at Diploma level. (Persons enrolled on the full teaching Diploma programme due to complete this academic year may apply; the role will be offered on a lower salary and an adjustment applied on confirmation of fully qualified status)
