You will be based in the Work Placement Team, a team which is responsible for the development and delivery of exclusive opportunities for students to develop their skills, experience and employability.
Working collaboratively across Careers and Student Opportunity, along with colleagues in Educational Engagement, you will lead and oversee the development of bespoke opportunities for underrepresented students including insight days, internships and placements. You will have excellent communication skills and you will proactively engage with employers and external organisations, supporting them to develop a diverse workforce whilst maintaining commitment to ensuring students regardless of their background can succeed.
**Responsibilities**:
- Understanding and keeping abreast of the national and international agenda for under-representation within Higher Education.
- Supporting the development of strategies for the marketing and promotion of activities delivered by the service for both internal and external stakeholders, including maintaining external web pages and content.
- Reporting and monitoring relevant data to inform service delivery, analysing and sharing professional expertise on widening participation and engagement through the use of data analytics.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the opportunities you manage, and using data to Develop case studies and impact reports to continually improve the offer and provide feedback to the host organisations.
- Collaborating with colleagues in Educational Engagement, Lifelong Learning, and Widening Participation to ensure opportunities you secure are integrated into the full widening participation programme.
**Who we are looking for**:
- Experience in business development with a range of clients and partners.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to enthuse and persuade in order to build effective relationships.
- Strong project management skills and an ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written communications skills with an ability to develop web based and other digital information resources for a range of audiences.
- An ability to work as a member of a team combined with the sense of responsibility needed to work unsupervised.
