Derbyshire Healthcare are proud to advertise this exciting opportunity for someone to join the Derby Monitoring Study of Self-harm team as a Senior Research Assistant. As a senior research assistant, you will hold a key position within the Research & Development team at Derbyshire Healthcare, within the Derby Monitoring Study for Self-harm and the Multicentre Study of Self-harm in England research teams.

You will be responsible for collecting, collating, and cleaning all data for the Derby Monitoring Study of Self-harm (the Derby site of the Multicentre Study of Self-harm in England). Ensuring that that the day to day running of the study and chiefly the data collection for it, is undertaken to the highest research quality standard.

Key activity areas for you will include reviewing both emergency department and mental health patient records to ensure all self-harm attendances to the Royal Derby Hospital are identified, key data fields are complete, and all data inconsistencies resolved.

You will be required to work with multiple, very large datasets, and to identify any errors or inconsistencies within them.

You will also be required to use your expertise in data collection and research methods to help strengthen the study’s contemporaneous data collection processes. Data collection is embedded within the Trust’s day to day clinical activity. It is therefore essential that you work collaboratively with clinical colleagues of the Liaison Psychiatry and CAMHS Liaison (RISE) teams who help to collect the study data, to overcome any barriers or challenges faced.

You will occasionally need to travel between various Trust sites in Derby.
