**What does the Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor role involve?**
We are now recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to assist in the co-ordination and promotion of the highest standards of Health, Safety and Sustainability throughout the Manston Short-Term Holding Facility, both within MTC and in co-operation with other site stakeholders. This will include:
- Supporting our MTC HSEF Officer in all activities relating to Health, Safety, Fire and the Environment, including our sustainability goals.
- Providing advice and practical support to our Manston operational team.
- Acting as deputy for the MTC HSEF Officer when they are not on site.
- Supporting, monitoring, and reviewing the implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and associated action plans.
- Adopting MTC's Health and Safety Management tool 'AssessNet' for every day use, providing coaching and training to colleagues, and promoting the reporting of Near Miss and all incidents/accidents using the system.
**What will MTC offer our new Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor?**
We are offering a starting salary of up to £32,000 per annum, plus access to the employee benefits described below. The contract would be full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role will be based at our Manston site in Kent - postcode CT12 5BS.

**What are the **essential** requirements of the Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor?**
- Proactive, motivated, and friendly individual - able to build strong working relationships with people across all levels of our organisation (and with key stakeholders from other organisations on site)
- A team player who can also work independently to meet deadlines, and with high level of attention to detail.
- Meets the requirements of the UK Home Office Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC), including having been resident in the UK for a period of more than 3 years, and have either a British, EEA or Commonwealth passport with ILM. _We will ask all applicants invited to interview to complete an initial CTC questionnaire. _
- A NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational H&S or equivalent, or sufficient experience in a similar role is essential.
- Sound knowledge of H&S legislation, as well as experience operating health and safety management systems.
- Experience providing professional occupational health and safety advice in a complex environment.
- Willingness to progress towards further related qualifications as deemed necessary.
