Head of Continuous Improvement

We are seeking a motivated an committed individual to lead our Continuous Improvement Team.
You will support the continuing development of improvement champions across the organisation and promote evidence-based improvement initiatives across the Trust. You will ensure appropriate knowledge transfer and embedding of service improvement skills & tools across the Trust.
- Lead the Trust’s implementation of continuous improvement tools and techniques ensuring that the programme is planned, progressed and monitored in accordance with Trust priorities
- Reporting within the Medical Directorate, work with a significant degree of autonomy
- Be responsible for monitoring return on investment of continuous improvement activity, in conjunction with Directorate leads
- Responsible for direct line management of the Quality Improvement Team

- Lead on the delivery of quality improvement tools and techniques across the Trust. This will involve significant contribution to the development and delivery of the Microsystem Improvement Coach training programme, and the co-ordination, organisation and management of all Quality Improvement events across the Trust.
- Plan and organise the complexities of continuous improvement and its interface with other key projects and strategies being taken forward by the Trust, ensuring that activities are undertaken in a way that manages risk and links with the wider transformation programme.
- Accountable for the scoping, preparation, delivery and follow up of Trust Quality Improvement Events.
- Engage and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff (including those who may initially be sceptical), Directorate contacts, key stakeholders and other relevant colleagues. You will be required to guide staff through the process of continuous improvement through effective communication, listening, understanding of the issues and articulating the likely benefits.
- Co-ordinate the collection of data and information to support improvement initiatives across the Trust. This data may be highly complex and may be patient related and therefore sensitive. It will frequently be complicated. You will be expected to analyse and review all of the data collected, interpret the findings and ensure it is presented in a manner that all can understand. Part of the data collection will require face to face communication with a range of stakeholders. The post holder will be expected to source and interpret information from external sources, both locally, national and on occasions, internationally.
