We are now looking for a **Service Designer** you will work as part of a multidisciplinary agile team with other digital and technical experts to deliver one or more digital services. You will work out the best way to allow users to interactwith services, in terms of both overall flow, designing from front to back, and end to end.
You will be a confident and competent designer who is able to develop service prototypes and designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes.
**Key responsibilites as our Service Designer**:
- Working as part of multidisciplinary agile teams, delivering new services that meet user needs and HM Land Registry policy objectives
- Analysing and interpret user needs and business objectives in highly complex service areas
- Developing service design concepts and identify potential areas of improvement
- Working with user researchers, business analysts and developers to turn concepts into user-centred services
- Supporting service design workshops with the team
- Creating and rapidly iterate low and high-fidelity prototypes to test and communicate ideas with users
- Presenting and delivering your work back within your agile team, and at community critique and feedback sessions
- Contributing to our design system; develop and maintain service design standards and a service pattern library, ensuring service patterns are consistent, accessible, and easy to use across our digital products and services
- Working with the wider project team to ensure that services meet the digital service standard, participating in service assessments as necessary to provide service design evidence to support the relevant points
- Collaborating with service designers across government to identify and design scalable, cross-government service design patterns and standards.
**What we’re looking for in our Service Designer**:
- A strong grounding and experience in user-centered design, from concept to final delivery.
- Knowledge of what good end-to-end public services look like and how to design in an inclusive, accessible way.
- Experience of making decisions to meet user needs in the government context.
- The ability to absorb large amounts of conflicting information and use it to produce simple designs, removing complexity from services and solving problems.
- Experience of creating service design artefacts, for example: service prototypes, service blueprints, experience and user journey maps, problem framing and creating problem statements
- You approach prototyping as a team activity, actively soliciting prototypes and testing with others. You can establish service design patterns and iterate them. You can use a variety of methods of prototyping and choose the most appropriate ones.
- Experience of working collaboratively in a dynamic agile environment
- The ability to identify and understand constraints and can communicate these and work within them.
- Experience of creating usable, consistent and accessible services
- Experience of sketching, concept creating and designing prototypes
- An understanding of user needs, participating in research activities and using research to inform design
