As a **Head of Revenues & Benefits**you’ll play a vital role in**ensuring that Revenue Services maintain economical, efficient and effective arrangements for all income streams within well managed annual business plans and budgets toachieve collection, payment and other performance targets approved by the Corporate Director responsible for business rates, council tax, other corporate income streams in compliance with Council policies and Government regulatory requirements.**

**About the role**

Based in**Tower Hamlets**you will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives including:

- To manage and direct the Assessments Service ensuring that an efficient, cost effective and user focused service is provided in relation to Public and Private Housing Benefits, Council Tax Support and Education and Welfare benefits, together will Adultand Children’s Social Care Financial Assessments and other financial assessments.
- To retain professional corporate responsibility to maximise all forms of income due to the Council, across all departments
- To advise Councillors, Members of Parliament, and Senior Management on all matters affecting Income & Assessments functions including legislative developments and policy proposals and on remedial actions as required for collection of all forms of incomeand assessments
- To maintain sound arrangements for the accountability of Revenue Services to customers and to councillors through such means as annual reports and feedback on consultations and complaints.

**About you**
- Ability to foster an open and trusting culture with the ability to lead change through others and inspire high levels of performance
- Authoritative and influential with high developed relationship management and networking skills, and the ability to foster joint working across service and organizational boundaries for the benefit of residents and communities in LBTH.
- Naturally engaging with an ability to inspire and command respect, trust and confidence of colleagues, Council Members and other stakeholders
- Relevant specialist and/or generalist degree(s) e.g. Legal, Finance, HR/Business
- Substantial experience, evidenced by a solid track record of success, leading high-quality operationalservices
- A successful track record of engaging effectively with others at a senior and junior level while building sustainable productive partnerships with key stakeholders

**What’s on offer**
- **Salary: £500-£700+* per day Inside IR35 (negotiable)**
