The Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated, and proactive individual to a Medical Rota Coordinator post within Critical Care at NMGH, the role may also potentially be based at the Wythenshawe or ORC site, as well as NMGH

The post holder will be required to have experience of managing the deployment of medical staff to support the correct functions within Critical Care Medical Workforce. They will be responsible for the overall management of the rota, ensuring the required level of staffing and productivity is achieved. The post holder will also develop an in-depth experience of clinical demand to ensure the service provides the appropriate capacity.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and communication of the anaesthetic rota with the Operational Manager. The rota involves the allocation of consultant and SAS medical staff to cover Critical Care, clinics and on-call services. The role will also involve the coordination of the junior doctor rota for critical care in conjunction with the Rota Master. The role is highly complex, and requires attention to detail, advanced planning and coordination skills, and the ability to communicate with internal/external staff at all levels.

The post holder will work with the Deputy Directorate Manager for NMGH Critical Care and Rota Master to ensure that all sessions and on-calls are covered. This will require the ability to develop an in-depth knowledge of the rota and ability to allocate the appropriate grade of support to the correct sessions within the designated specialty.

The post holder is responsible for the coordination and communication of the rota to a range of service users across the Trust. Additionally, the post holder will support the management team in operational problem solving with regard to the rota.

Work with the Rota Master to coordinate the production and publication of the Critical Care Medical rota to a high standard and in a timely manner

Undertake regular, systematic validation of the rota, including daily checks with the operational team to ensure that unforeseen changes that impact the rota are escalated and resolved

Use CLW software to publish and maintain the rota, inputting accurate and up to date information to a high standard

Ensure prospective cover in the medical establishment is utilised and appropriate cover is booked as required
