**Job Description**:
FANTASTIC NEW OPPORTUNITY - Tax Trainee, Meriden (Coventry), Up to £21,000 p/a
Sheridan Maine are delighted to be working with a market-leading company, well-known for being a regular in the Times’ ‘Best Companies to Work For’. They are recruiting for a brand-new Tax Trainee to join their internal central finance department to provide support and advice to the wider commercial business. The position has arisen due to a strategic focus on building a dynamic tax department for the future.
The Role:
The opportunity will provide a working environment which is inclusive and collaborative, and the world of tax should interest those who enjoy a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Admin- Assisting with the design of company policies - risk management procedures / expense policies / transfer pricing.- Employment Tax / PAYE / CIS- Prepare monthly PAYE schedule for group companies and forward to accountants in time to meet monthly payment requirements.- Reconcile PAYE on a monthly basis with ledger control accounts and investigate and report significant differences.- Reconcile PAYE payments with P35 returns and report any significant ongoing differences.- Year end reconcile P35 reports with payments and provide details of payment and CIS to payroll managers for inclusion in Annual P35 returns.- Checking CIS returns prior to submitting to HMRC.- Assist with sub-contractor statement as appropriate- Assist with preparation & completion of Forms P11D / PSA.- VAT- Assist with preparation and submission of VAT returns- Corp Tax- Assist with review of financial statements and tax-sensitive data analysis.- Assist with the tax forecasting and corporation tax payments.- Assist with data collection for ‘research and development’ claims.- Other- Assist with other Ad Hoc projectsThe Person:
This company are ideally looking for someone coming out of college and sixth form who has the following:

- A Levels (minimum 3 B’s) - ideally within the fields of Mathematics/Sciences/I.T.- Strong I.T skills (or an interest with technology) including robotics, analytics, data mining, data management (and ability to manipulate large data sets), would be beneficial.- Good oral and written communication skills- Demonstrable time management skills- An appetite for learning and personal developmentThe company will also be offering further educational courses and plenty of opportunities to grow as a finance professional.
