They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is one of their flagship growing operations. They are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join on a 12-month fixed term contract period, part of their site senior leadership team. Role & Responsibilities: *Managing a team of X2 engineering team leaders and X25 engineers *Work with and collaborate with other senior management heads to achieve site objectives *In the absence of the current engineering manager, take full control of the engineering department, allowing it to continue to function effectively & efficiently *Develop and coach the engineering team to deliver exceptional performance *Drive continuous improvements, compliance standards and lean manufacturing practices *Be the Site Duty Holder for, LOLER, Electrical Safety, Pressure Systems, F-Gas, Work Permits, Site Services, Working at Height, etc. *Responsible for HSE, food safety, CAPEX projects, training & development, departmental budget control, GMP, SOP's, PPM's, recruitment, appraisals, disciplinaries *Assess areas for training/improvement of the team skills and department *Ensure all engineering policy standards & systems operate in accordance with BRC & site standards *Manage site services, facilities and maintenance service contacts and contactor work Knowledge, Skills & Experience: *Must be an experienced site engineering manager *Previously have managed in fast-paced food manufacturing/production environments *Happy coming to come in and "guide the ship" within the engineering department *Must be happy seeing through the full 12-month contract period, want someone in it for the long run *Have managed a team of 25 or more people *Strong, effective and dynamic person *Must have been a Site Duty Holder *Ideally be degree qualified *Managed bug budgets and CAPEX projects *A thorough understanding of safety legislation, food safety and legal compliance *Beneficial if previously done internal departmental auditing *Strong man-manager, trainer, developer and able to influence proactive change if needed *Experienced and qualified in Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Techniques SE20295 / 534 If you are interested in this role or looking for something similar please contact our Managing Consultant, Chris Gumm on.
