Reporting to Anne Wilson, the post-holder will be responsible for coordinating research to evaluate the efficacy of the novel space spray product compared to two comparator products. The first year of the project involves optimisation of space spraying in the two field sites in collaboration with Manatee County Mosquito Control District and IVCC, plus entomological baseline characterisation (species composition, density, insecticide resistance, resting and biting behaviours) using spatial sampling designs developed by collaborators at Lancaster University. In the second year, a cluster-randomised controlled field trial will compare the efficacy of the space spray products against laboratory reared and wild malaria and _Aedes_ vectors in both settings.

The key responsibilities are:

- Provide technical support to the development of the study protocol, information and consent forms, data collection tools and training materials - whilst coordinating with the PI and relevant Co-Is the submission to LSTM, national and institutional ethics committee for clearance.
- Coordinate and monitor collection of high-quality data and conduct data analysis; provide training to study staff where required; provide regular reports to the PI, bring any urgent matters to immediate attention, and help to resolve issues in conjunction with investigator and study team.
- Reporting and dissemination; take a leading role in preparation of manuscripts for peer review and other outputs where required; support in-country and international dissemination activities.
- Provide support to project staff, PhD students and other staff within the group.
- PhD in relevant discipline e.g., Entomology, Biology, Epidemiology, Operational Research, statistical or spatial modelling - fluency in French and/or Arabic.
- Extensive relevant experience in entomological research in low and/or middle-income countries.
- Experience of statistical analysis of entomological data using statistical analysis packages e.g., Stata, R, QGIS; with the ability to develop data collection methods to ensure high quality data using various sizes of datasets.
- Experience of planning and designing rigorous field entomological studies, including research ethics submissions.
- Experience writing peer reviewed publications, technical reports, conference presentations and presenting technical materials at academic conferences and policy forums.
- Willingness to supervise and train PhD, MSc, and BSc students with a flexible attitude to work.
- Ability to regularly travel to research sites in Accra, Ghana, and Djibouti (approx. 2 trips per year to each site) and a willingness to occasionally work outside of normal hours to travel or meet deadlines.
