An exciting and fulfilling opportunity has arisen within the Wallasey Family Hubs team for a full-time Family Worker on a 6 month fixed term contract.
**About the Role**:
The role of the Family Worker is to support families with young children primarily in their home environment, delivering appropriate, timely, outcome-focused interventions which improve the child's outcomes and prevents any escalation of need. The Family Worker team are committed to the systemic practice framework, which promotes a strengths-based approach based on developing positive relationships with families and other professionals to deliver robust, measurable support plans working alongside the family.
The role is varied and fast paced, so you will need to have the skills to manage these challenges appropriately; you will receive regular case supervision & welfare-based conversations to ensure that your emotional wellbeing & resilience is prioritised.
The Family Worker will specifically support families antenatally and those with young children up to the age of 5 years; it is therefore vital that you have a sound knowledge of child development in the early years and an understanding of how trauma and other vulnerabilities such as poverty, domestic abuse and inconsistent parenting can impact on young children's developmental outcomes.
You will be based in Seacombe Family Hub and support families across both the Wallasey Locality. Early Childhood Services work as part of the Family Help Multi-Disciplinary Team alongside colleagues from Domestic Abuse, Youth and Play and Targeted Family Support teams.
