We own two zoos in south west England, plus two local nature reserves and a National Nature Reserve. Newquay Zoo first opened its doors as a council run seasonal attraction in the 1950s, relocating it to its current site and now permanent home in 1969. Over 50 years later, our site, and work, has grown considerably and we are now one of Cornwall’s most popular tourist attractions and a leading conservation and education centre. There are over 120 species of animal that call Newquay Zoo home.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Visitor Experience Supervisor to join our Visitor Experience team on a permanent contract. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours over 5 days, working hours will vary over a 7 day rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Hours will be variable to meet the demands of the business and our opening times. The salary for this position is £23,166.00 per annum (£11.88 per hour).

**What will this role involve?**

You will be the champion of the overall visitor experience at Newquay Zoo, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of front of house and reception. As part of the role you will be leading and developing the Visitor Experience team. You will also help to ensure exceptional standards are met and maintained throughout the site, helping to undertake monthly site audits and liaising with departments to resolve issues in a timely manner. The role will also involve upselling our Membership scheme, making sure all team members are also confident in doing this, and to accurately maintain records. You will also be responding to queries and complaints from visitors as well as ensuring all information relating to pricing and tickets is up to date on the till system.

**What skills and experience are required?**

You will ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in a visitor focused operation and a NVQ 2 in customer care or equivalent. Experience of dealing with customer complaints is essential as is experience of supervising teams. You will be confident using a computer, will have great organizational skills and enjoy speaking to lots of different people.
