**Job Purpose**:The Assistant Management Accountant will work not only with members of the Finance Team but will support any staff that require help and assistance with finance. The key function of this role is to support the production ofaccurate and timely monthly management accounts, budgets and the year-end statutory accounts. The role holder will be responsible for the managing of Service Charges and rent increases.

Key Responsibilities:

- Produce the annual Service Charge schedules and accounts ensuring that service charge information is accurately recorded.
- Calculate and upload annual rent increases
- Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations as allocated
- Update the Fixed Asset Register and complete calculations for depreciation, additions and disposals
- Calculate and journal monthly amortisation of loans
- Complete accurate schedules for all property sales and produce all relevant journals
- Update monthly cashflow and reconcile to nominal ledger
- Assist the Finance Business Partner with the monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting
- Assist with the interim and year end audit
- Undertake the accounts preparation for the Association’s managed organisations.
- Keep the relevant sections of the Association’s Financial Procedures Manual reviewed and updated.
- To carry out additional responsibilities reasonably associated with the post title and post holder’s capabilities, as and when required by the Association.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**:
Experience of book-keeping and reconciliations.

Experience of accounts preparation

Skilled in working with software packages such as Microsoft Outlook and Word.

Experience of advanced Excel functions such as VLookup and pivot tables.

Ability to work as a team member and on own initiative to plan and manage workload.

Good organisational skills.

Flexible approach to duties and working arrangements.

**Desirable**:
Part or fully qualified as an accounting technician, or part qualified CIMA/ACCA.

Experience of Service charge preparation / Housing Association experience
