Business Analyst with Data Migration Specialism

- Three month interim role
- £300 - £350 per day
My client is a well known charitable organisation which operates on a global basis. The Safeguarding team are looking for a number of contractors to assist with a project
They are looking for a Business Analyst with a specialism in Data MIgration
Duties will include
- Enact data migration processes
- With the data migration specialist enact repeatable processes for data gathering, mapping, load for processing and validation
- Exception handling of migration errors arising from processing
- Migration workshops and informal working groups
- QA data migration deliverables
- Support End to End activities to ensure effective migration of verification process
- Update RAID log related to migration
- Identify, support and resolve, migration related issues and risks, escalating as required.
- Data Reconciliation
- Participate in cutovers, Go/No Go' meetings.
- Data quality guidance to data owners
- Implementation of final migration scheduling
- Repeatable process for data prep, acquisition, transformation and loading enacted
- Data migration timelines and schedule enacted
- Phase 1 participants are familiarised with the plan for data migration.
- Support Phase 1 participants to work through guidelines
- Support participants through the process
- Data acquisition support plan is enacted as agreed
- Ensure support resources identified and in place
- Ensure systems and tools in place (SharePoint, etc)
- Ensure data is safely acquired from Phase 1 participants
- Ensure that a clear and proven Migration plan is in place for all Phase 1 participants, with allocated resources
- Ensure that data testing is complete
- Ensure the migratable data has been proven to work with reporting.
- Data Protection impact assessment in place, signed off by data protection officer. (to demonstrate compliance with GDPR)
- Ensure that information sharing agreements in place where necessary
About you
- Degree level or higher in IT and computer science
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a role in a complex, multi-priority organisation
- Full life cycle experience of the data migration process, from feeding into strategy and planning, through to hands on responsibility of testing, execution, go-live and aftercare
- Experience in working with data migration in large scale projects
- Experience of managing migration error reporting and mitigation
- Experience in using a variety of migration tools, and implementing best solutions
- Strong attention to detail in order to evaluate data for accuracy and errors
- Can do attitude and ability to own and progress tasks independently within a project team and in alignment with the projects objective
- Understanding of data mapping and modelling
- The ability to problem-solve under pressure in complex situations, in line with the projects objective
- A methodical and logical approach to planning and organisation
- The ability to clearly communicate with team members
- Excellent time management skills and a goal-oriented personality
- A strong understanding of data protection and data governance
- A thorough understanding of database systems and software
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Experience with Master Data, understanding MDM domains, data structure (hierarchy & groups), fields and the business definitions of these
Desirable criteria:

- Strong hands-on working knowledge of SQL and experience with MS SQL databases
- Previous experience in doing similar role in relation to Safeguarding and/or Casework Management System in a Charity sector or large organisations with complex set up and governance
- Understanding of Data Quality best practice
- Previous experience in doing similar role in relation to Safeguarding and/or Casework Management System
- Experience of working in an integrated environment
