Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live.

Last year over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of million hours of their time to our organisation.

Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers, and make a real difference?

We are looking to recruit volunteers to support our healthcare team. This role will primarily focus on screening for blood borne viruses, and will also assist our wider staff team on our detoxes, running workshop sessions around coping strategies and relapse prevention skills, among other areas.

As a wider organisation, we are actively working towards micro-elimination of Hepatitis C, and this position is an integral part of our strategy to do so.

**What is micro-elimination?**

Hepatitis C (hep C) is one of the most common blood borne viruses in the country. Testing and treatments have improved a lot over the years, and most people with hep C can be cured with few or no side effects.

Micro-elimination is a new way of tackling hepatitis C in local areas. It uses a series of targets to make sure that people are being diagnosed and getting the treatment they need quickly and easily.

When we say an area has micro-eliminated hepatitis C, that means it has reached these targets:

- 100% of people using our service have been offered a hepatitis C test.
- 100% of past and current injectors have a test.
- 90% of past and current injectors have a test date within 12 months.
- 90% of people found to be HCV positive have started treatment.

As a volunteer you will be working closely with our team to identify service users who have not been offered tests through their assessment, through testing of those who have accepted a test, and supporting those who are positive for Hepatitis in engaging with treatment, where appropriate.
