**Support Worker (Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs)**

- **Location**: Worthing, West Sussex
- **Hours**: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week - including occasional weekends.
- **Payrate**: £23,400 per annum
Mon-Fri: £12.00 per hour
Saturday: £12.60 per hour
Sunday: £13.20 per hour
**What is the role?**
As a Support Worker, you will be an integral part of our Learning Disability Services unit, reporting to the Service Manager. Your primary responsibility is to provide support and befriending to children and adults with learning disabilities. You will contribute to improving health and wellbeing, reducing social isolation, and maximising independence.
- Facilitating meaningful activities and outings for individuals with learning disabilities in various settings.
- Providing direct care, engaging in meaningful activities, assisting with physical movement, toileting, and dressing as needed.
- Supervising individuals or small groups in engaging activities.
- Ensuring compliance with current legislation and codes of practice for services provided to children and adults with learning disabilities.
- Maintaining the safety, supervision, and care of individuals accessing Community Services.

- Proven experience and a passion for adults and children with learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to administer medication and provide personal care.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of adults and children with learning and physical disabilities, complex health needs, and autism, and their carers.
- Understanding of safeguarding.
- Experience of working with parents/carers.
- Experience of working in the care sector.
- Experience of enabling people to engage in a wide range of activities within a day service setting and the local community.
- Knowledge of Makaton sign language.
