**Overview of Responsibilities**:
As our Innovation Team Leader (Characterisation and Consignments) you will play a pivotal role in the Hydrogen 3 Advanced Technologies Division (H3AT) by leading the delivery of tritium life cycle solutions for sustainable fusion energy, aiming to maximise the scientific and economic benefits as a result.

We are looking for someone with excellent line management skills and the ability to provide research and development, and project management leading to proficiency in tritium, waste, and/or fusion fuel cycles.

You possess deep industry knowledge and are a technical expert in RAD Waste Management, characterisation and disposal coupled with excellent people and project management skills.

Main responsibilities:

- Managing various projects, activities, and processes within UKAEA,
- Leading a multidiscipline team engaged in the Waste Management of UKAEA Rad and Beryllium contaminated wastes,
- Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders ensuring best practice is applied and suitable disposal routes and activities are progressed.
- Line Management responsibilities supporting development, setting objectives, and coaching of staff whilst fulfilling role as technical lead in relation to processes and activities within the Team.

Required to enter radiological and beryllium-controlled areas (possible RWA or working towards)

Essential Requirements:

- Experience of working on projects as a technical lead.
- Experience line managing and coaching technical individuals.
- Experience in building and leading technical teams.

Desirable:

- Chartered status with a professional body (or equivalent certificate).
- Demonstrated experience in relevant technology or research field.
